Solar pool heating systems Print E-mail

The solar pool heating system aims at removing the chill from the pool water to ensure comfortable utilization.
On a sunny day, one can increase the temperature of the pool water to between 4-6 degrees.
It is highly recommended that a pool blanket and roller be used to retain the temperature as well as keeping the pool clean.

Components of a solar pool heating system;
Strip of panels measuring 3.8m x 1.2m
Circulation pump ( pool circulation pump) sensor

How it works;

The solar pool heating system works by pumping water from the swimming pool through the absorber strip positioned to receive solar radiation. The absorber strip acts as a solar collector and is best positioned on a roof adjacent to the swimming pool. The solar energy heats water passing through the strip which is then returned to the pool.

The flow of water from the pool through the strip is controlled by sensors connected to an electronic controller. If the water from the pool is cooler than the collector temperature, the controller switches on the “solar pump” .When the solar pump is on, water is pumped from the swimming pool through the absorber strip and is heated before returning to the swimming pool. If the water coming from the pool is warmer than the collector temperature or is at the desired temperature set on the controller, the solar pump is switched off. When the solar pump is off the water does not pass through the collectors.
